On Friday 18th, our EVS team made an excursion to Mount Ślęża, which is 718 meters high and is located close to Wrocław city. The main idea of the trip was to get acquainted with different kind of trees, history and to enjoy pure nature. It was a good challenge since we had to be both mentally as well as physically well prepared for it.

“Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future”. The quote made by the U.S. president John F. On Friday 21th of July we participated in a cultural initiative organized by Żółty Parasol. We deliberately chose a neglected neighbourhood in Barlickiego Street near Park Tołpy with one goal in mind; render it more attractive and allow children of the local community to enjoy summer vacations in their own backyard. So the works kicked off early in the morning and with the weather on our side, we knew a perfect day was ahead of us.
One of the best ways to meet a new culture is to become acquainted with its cuisine. For this purpose, we joined the traditional cooking event which was organized by Foundation of Zolty Parasol at Park Tolpy on 18.06.2017. Our Turkish and Croatian volunteers prepared their traditional meals and presented them in the park in order to introduce their culture and tasting new delights.
Turkish menu included lentil balls, potato salad, Turkish delight, saksuka (ingredients are aubergine, tomato sauce, onion, spices) and mixture of sesame oil and grape molasses (sweet) which are very typical of Turkish cuisine.
On Saturday 27th May 2017, north of Rynek, in the area surrounding Pomorska street, a joint ECO-ACTION took place. The Park Services staff was joined by Fundacja Ekorozwoju and its international team of EVS volunteers from Croatia, Turkey and Ukraine as well as by volunteers from UPS and local population residing nearby. That day we all had one goal in mind: give the entire neighborhood a new and more pleasant appearance by planting long rows of small mesmerizing bushes along the street.
